What could be the cause of a laptop not powering on despite having a new battery and a working charger?
I have a four-year-old Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop (model: PH315-52-710B) running Windows 10. Recently, it stopped turning on after waking up from sleep mode. The screen remained black and unresponsive. I had to force a shut down by holding the power button. This issue occurred sporadically in the past month, but I was able to turn it on again after a few attempts. However, this time it did not work at all. The only sign of life is the blue charging light when I plug in the charger.
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps, but none of them resolved the problem:
Disconnecting the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, then reconnecting the battery and trying to turn it on again.
Removing the battery and plugging in the charger only, then trying to turn it on again.
Draining the battery completely and recharging it fully, then trying to turn it on again.
Replacing the battery with a new one (a genuine Acer battery), then trying to turn it on again.
I
have also verified that the charger is working properly by testing it with a multimeter. I am at a loss as to what could be the cause of this issue. Is it possible that the motherboard, the power button, or the screen is faulty? How can I diagnose and fix this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
